The kick-off meeting of Smart Square project

We are pleased to announce that the Smart Square project had its official two-days kick-off hybrid meeting, on 6 & 7 December 2022, in Nicosia, Cyprus.

The project Smart Square “Smart Tools for Smart Buildings: Enhancing the intelligence of buildings in Europe” aims to develop and deliver the appropriate tools and applications, which will enable the promotion and establishment of intelligence assessment of buildings in Europe, through buildings’ Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) scheme. Smart Square will address several SRI scheme needs. Specifically, it will support the market uptake of the SRI, explore possible links between SRI and EPC, develop SRI calculation tools, face interoperability and cybersecurity issues, define minimum requirements for SRI, develop SRI on-site audit standards, define SRI in digital building logbooks and align the SRI with the EPBD recast.

The Kick-off meeting begun with a round table discussion, during which all 10 project partners got a chance to present themselves and their organization. Afterwards, all work packages were introduced by their respective leaders. In addition, the partners had fruitful discussions about the main tasks’ framework, the work packages and established the project’s strategic goals and action, which will be completed in three years.

It was a great pleasure for everyone to meet in person and discuss about the Smart Square project. Thank you all for the wonderful time in Nicosia!
