The SMART² Project participated at the 7th International Conference on Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Efficiency – Energy Security
The SMART² Project took center stage at the 7th International Conference on Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Efficiency – Energy Security (RESEE2023). This conference served as a vital platform for key stakeholders in the field to collaborate, exchange insights, and explore opportunities to accelerate the adoption of renewables and energy-efficient solutions, with a special focus on Cyprus and similar economies.
RESEE2023, held in Cyprus on 12-14 October 2023, provided a crucial forum for experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to deliberate on best practices, share their experiences, and outline strategies to advance the integration of renewables and energy efficiency in the region. Among the prominent participants was the SMART² Project, which contributed to the conference with a thought-provoking poster presentation.
The SMART² Project’s presentation centered on the “Documentation of the Status of Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) at the level of the European Commission”. This presentation aimed to shed light on the current progress of the SRI within the European Commission and the activities within Member States relating to the development and implementation of national SRIs. In addition, the presentation explored the ongoing advancements in the establishment and operation of the SRI. It also delved into the efforts to standardize the creation of building smartness standards.
The importance of the SMART² Project’s presentation lay in its mission to glean crucial insights into facilitating the uptake of the SRI and bridging the gap between this indicator and European citizens. The SRI, as a critical tool for gauging the smart readiness of buildings, has immense potential in fostering sustainability, energy efficiency, and technological innovation within the European Union.
By sharing these details at RESEE2023, the SMART² Project aimed to inspire fruitful discussions and collaborations among conference attendees, fostering the development of strategies to bolster the adoption of renewables and energy-efficient & smart technologies throughout the European Union.
